Photographs made during daily walks taken under Covid lockdown restrictions in Christchurch, New Zealand.
A project made during the August–September 2021 Covid lockdowns in Christchurch, New Zealand. With daily movement limited, the work developed through repeated walks from my home in Strowan, along Papanui Road to Hagley Park and back.
These walks formed a consistent structure for observing familiar environments under conditions of restriction and repetition, accompanied by continuous listening to electronic music.
The photographs focus on everyday spaces, peripheral details, and incidental compositions encountered along these routes. Moving between order and disruption, stillness and movement, the work attends to how attention shifts within routine, recording a landscape experienced through limited distance rather than documenting the lockdown itself.
